Palu (UINDK Palu PR) – Professor Dr. H. Sagaf S. Pettalongi, M.Pd, the Rector of State Islamic University (UIN) Datokarama Palu, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Collaboration Agreement with Dr. H. Zulkarnain SH, MH, the Chief Justice of the Religious High Court of Palu, Central Sulawesi. This agreement aims to uphold the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi) and improve the quality of services provided by the Religious High Court of Palu. The signing took place in the Senate Meeting Room on the third floor of the Rectorate building on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.

During his speech, Rector Sagaf S. Pettalongi highlighted the successful history of collaboration and synergy between UIN Datokarama Palu and the Religious High Court of Palu. He expressed profound appreciation for this partnership.

“Undoubtedly, the level of synergy between our institutions remains strong. Even though we are no longer under the same ministry, our emotional bond is enduring. Our shared commitment to serving society remains steadfast,” noted the Rector.

Sagaf emphasized that the synergy between the Religious High Court and UIN Datokarama Palu would further reinforce their joint commitment to serving the public. Both institutions are dedicated to providing the best possible service to society, whether through the Religious High Court or through the university, which produces human resources at the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels.

“We will continue to enhance this synergy through the MoU, and we hope that it won’t stop at the MoU signing ceremony. Instead, we look forward to further actions, including research and community service conducted by the Faculty of Sharia, the Faculty of Economics, and other faculties,” he added.

Dr. H. Zulkarnain SH, MH, the Chief Justice of the Religious High Court of Palu, expressed his hope that this collaboration would fulfill its objectives. He noted that their partnership had been ongoing for a considerable time and was still in effect.

“We need to renew the MoU because the previous one has expired. It was signed three years ago between the Religious High Court of Palu and UIN Datokarama. Now we will renew it, and I am grateful for the positive response from the Rector to continue this cooperation,” explained Zulkarnain.

Furthermore, Dr. Zulkarnain mentioned that the Religious High Court of Palu is prepared to provide guidance and mentoring for those interested the field of judiciary. He emphasized that many individuals within the Religious High Court hold doctoral degrees and are willing to support this collaboration.

” UIN Datokarama Palu feels like home to us. We will continue to support each other. The synergy with the academic world is crucial because, in reality, religious justice loses its significance without the support of academia,” Dr. Zulkarnain emphasized.

This visit and interaction serve to share information and collaborate in areas of mutual interest. UIN Datokarama Palu not only serves as an educational institution for the Religious High Court of Palu but also acts as a source of human resources, particularly for Sharia departments, which are integral to the field of religious justice.
