Palu (UINDK Palu PR) – State Islamic University (UIN) Datokarama Palu recently held an open senate session for the graduation ceremony of 698 alumni from various faculties and programs. The event took place at the Auditorium of campus I on September 7, 2023.
Breaking down the numbers, the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training contributed the most graduates with 317. It was followed by the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business with 183 graduates. The Faculty of Ushuluddin Adab and Dakwah added 91 graduates, while the Faculty of Sharia produced 56 graduates. Additionally, the Graduate School made a significant contribution with 42 Master’s program graduates and 9 Doctoral program graduates.
The graduation ceremony was attended by families, friends, and lecturers who provided support to the graduates throughout their academic journey.
Prof. Dr. Sagaf Pettalongi, M.Pd., the Rector of UIN Datokarama Palu, was present to award the graduates. In his address, he praised the hard work and dedication of the graduates during their time at UIN Datokarama Palu.
“Graduation marks not the end of one’s academic and intellectual journey but rather the beginning of real life and intellectual exploration,” said Sagaf Pettalongi.
He further advised the alumni not to take pride solely in the degrees they have earned, as that is not a measure of one’s true character.
” While academic accomplishments hold significance, they do not exclusively define one’s identity. Good moral character stands as one of the most pivotal aspects in shaping one’s identity,” he emphasized.
These newly minted alumni are expected to use the knowledge and values they have acquired during their studies to contribute to the progress of society and the nation.
This graduation ceremony marks a noteworthy milestone in their educational journey, and UIN Datokarama Palu takes pride in being part of their academic achievements.
