Palu (UINDK Palu PR) – In an effort to implement the Emergency Assistance for Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (EARR) program in Central Sulawesi – 3793 INO, UIN DRM has organized a Preparedness Campaign to raise awareness and readiness in dealing with disasters.
The meeting for the formation of Disaster Response Volunteers at the State Islamic University Datokarama Palu aims to improve disaster preparedness. The event took place on Tuesday, July 25, 2023.
This event was attended by representatives from student activity units (UKM), the Student Senate, the Student Council, as well as UKM supervisors. The activity was facilitated by Mr. Shadiq Maumbu and PT. Yodya Karya. Dr. Mohamad Idhan, M.Ag., the Vice Rector III of UIN Datokarama Palu, delivered an official speech and opened the event.
In his remark, Dr. Mohamad Idhan emphasized the importance of awareness and preparation for disasters, especially in areas vulnerable to natural threats like Central Sulawesi.
“With the formation of the Disaster Response Volunteers, we hope to enhance preparedness and the ability to respond to emergency situations more quickly and efficiently,” he stated.
The meeting for the formation of Disaster Response Volunteers aims to create a responsive and readily available team to handle various potential disasters that may occur on campus or in the surrounding Palu area. By involving students from various student organizations, strong synergy and effective collaboration are expected in responding to emergency situations.
This activity represents a concrete step taken by UIN Datokarama Palu in building disaster awareness and preparing volunteers to provide assistance and support when needed. Hopefully, these Disaster Response Volunteers can serve as the frontline guardians in ensuring the safety and well-being of all campus residents and the surrounding community.
