Palu (PR UIN Datokarama Palu) – The State Islamic University (UIN) Datokarama Palu immediately open four general study programs to answer challenges while meeting the needs of the people in the Central Sulawesi region.
“Yes, we have received the recommendation from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology to open four general study programs,” said Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Institutional Development of UIN Datokarama Palu, Prof Abidin Djafar in Palu, Monday.
Abidin Djafar said, the general study programs that will be opened are Public Health, Psychology, Information Systems and Informatics Engineering Study Program.
The four study programs will be covered by two faculties, respectively, the Faculty of Public Health and the Faculty of Science.
“All of these study programs are for the undergraduate level (S1),” he said.
Prof. Abidin Djafar explained that previously UIN Datokarama Palu submitted an application for the opening of the general study programs to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology through the application program called Siaga.
“We have completed the application with all the terms and various data,” said Abidin.
The application, he said, was then verified by LLDikti Region XVI which covers Gorontalo, North Sulawesi and Central Sulawesi.
“The verification has been carried out twice by LLDikti Region XVI,” he said.
From the verification, the Ministry of Education, Research and Technology assessed that UIN Palu was worthy of being given a recommendation to open the four general study programs that were applied for.
“This recommendation will then become a follow-up material by the Ministry of Education, Research and Technology to issue a decision on the opening of the four general study programs,” he said.
Prof. Abidin explained, in accordance with the direction of LLDikti Region XVI that the decision to open four general study programs by the Ministry of Research and Technology will be published in October 2022.
Thus, he said, in January 2023 UIN Palu will be able to accept new students for the four study programs.
“This is a form of scientific integration developed by UIN Palu which combines general knowledge with religious sciences,” he said.
